Our first blog

Katlyn Schuurman

It's been almost two years. Two years since the first post, the first product, the launch of Bella Bath & Body. And boy, have we came a long way from that day.

For those of you who don't know, let me give you a little bit of history. For those of you who do know, feel free to reminisce with me. This company was created for all the people, who like my children and many others in my family, can't use all the manufactured bath & body care products on the market. I vividly remember the day I decided to start making these products. While at the mall, I had purchased a bath bomb from a very popular company. They advertised with an all natural marketing strategy, which made me believe my children would be okay to use one of their bath bombs. We purchased two bath bombs, both made for children. When we used them, I remember having to pull my children out of the tub covered from the neck down in a chemical burn. This wasn't the first time we had a problem like this with bath and body products, so I decided that I would figure out a way to have fun and unique products that also were gentle on sensitive skin.

In January 2017 after months of research, development, trial, error, and a large sense of pride for my creations, Bella Bath & Body was officially created on Facebook, with the first product being a shower jelly. A very cute and wiggly jiggly soap!  We continued to release new products, and we expanded very fast. I never in a million years expected to be where we are today. On August 18th, 2018 after 19 months of running this business from a work space in my home, that often over flowed to all other parts of my home, we signed a lease for our very own store!

I had a vision, beautiful pink walls, teal accents, and my products fully stocked on shelves and tables. On October 1st, after spending every single day of September, for 12+ hours a day, we finally opened our doors to our very own retail store.

During this process, we've also been lucky enough to also accept other local artisian's products in our store. Now, we offer a variety of handmade products such as clothing, customized cups, jewelry, a variety of knit & crocheted items, chewelry & other baby products. It brings me a lot of joy to be able to help other local small business owners grow their businesses.

We are so excited to be where we are today and can't wait to see where this journey will take us. Thank you so much to all our customers for your continuous support!
